OUR HISTORY

Jim and Lisa Nave are the founders of YWAM Swaziland. Jim was born in Oregon, and Lisa was born in California.  They have three children; Kathryn, Michael and Emily.

CALLING TO SWAZILAND.

In 2000, Lisa traveled to S. Africa to attend her great-grandfathers 100th year birthday party. During this time she came into contact with Teen Challenge Ministries in Swaziland, where she would end up volunteering for 1 year. During this time Lisa cultivated a heart for the Swazi people and kept a vision of YWAM someday coming to Swaziland.

In 2002 Jim and Lisa married and stepped out of missions for a year and a half. However, during this time, they led a church team back to Swaziland. This was Jim’s first time in Africa. In 2003, they moved to Kona, Hawaii to serve Youth With A Mission’s, University of the Nations and to begin to get their feet back into world missions. With their vision to bring YWAM to Swaziland, they were prayed for and released to move to S. Africa.

2005/JAN Jim & Lisa asked Loren about existing YWAM works in Swaziland – was told nothing was happening yet. Pioneering needed. Started discussing, praying about possibility of pioneering YWAM into Swaziland.

2005/MARCH Commissioned, sent from Kona, blessings from Loren & Darlene Cunningham.

2005/JULY Applied and accepted to LTS (Leadership Training) in Muizenberg – money for airfare provided.
